The short version: We collect only what's needed to run your budgeting app. We never sell your data. Your financial transaction records are private to you (and family members you explicitly invite). We use Stripe for payments and Twilio for SMS — both are industry leaders in data security.

1Who We Are

True Budget is a personal finance management application operated by Mikes App Hub, an Australian-based software provider ("we", "us", "our"). Our service is available at truebudget.mikesapphub.com.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in Schedule 1 of that Act.

For privacy enquiries, contact us at support@truebudget.mikesapphub.com.

3How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

We will not use your information for any purpose incompatible with the above without your consent or as otherwise permitted by the Australian Privacy Principles.

4Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party providers to operate the Service. Each is bound by their own privacy policies and relevant data protection laws.

Stripe Payments

All subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment information is collected and stored by Stripe under their Privacy Policy. We receive a token reference and billing status — we do not store card numbers, BSB details, or full account numbers on our servers.

Twilio SMS / Phone verification

We use Twilio for SMS delivery where applicable (e.g. notifications). Your phone number may be transmitted to Twilio to send messages. Twilio's data practices are governed by their Privacy Policy.

Email (SMTP)

Transactional emails (verification, password reset, subscription notices) are sent via our configured SMTP provider. The email address you register with is transmitted to send these messages. We do not share your email address with mailing lists or marketing platforms.

Google Fonts

Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts. This causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers; Google may log this request per their Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or behavioural analytics platforms.

5Family Hub & Shared Data

The Family Hub feature allows you to invite other True Budget users to access specific accounts. When you use this feature:

If you are invited to join a family group, your name and profile information will be visible to the account owner. By accepting an invitation, you consent to this limited disclosure.

6Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service.

You may export your financial data at any time from the Transactions page using the CSV export feature.

7Data Security

We take the security of your personal and financial information seriously. Our security measures include:

No system is 100% secure. While we implement industry-standard security practices, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. Please use a strong, unique password and do not share your login credentials with anyone.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@truebudget.mikesapphub.com.

8Cookies & Analytics

Session Cookies

We use a single, essential session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to function and does not track you across other websites. It expires when your session ends or you log out.

No Advertising or Tracking Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or third-party behavioural analytics (such as Google Analytics). The only third-party request your browser makes is to Google Fonts for typography.

Local Storage

The app may use browser local storage for performance purposes (e.g. caching settings). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

9Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. Most of your data is visible directly in the app (profile settings, transaction history). For a full data export or to request information we hold that isn't visible in the app, contact us.

Correction

If you believe information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, you may update it directly in the app via Settings, or contact us to request a correction.

Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time (generally within 30 days) subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

Withdrawal of Consent

Where our processing of your data is based on consent (e.g. optional profile fields), you may withdraw that consent at any time by deleting the relevant information from your profile or contacting us.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Contact us at support@truebudget.mikesapphub.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request. We will respond within 30 days.

10Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without verifiable parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us at support@truebudget.mikesapphub.com and we will promptly delete the information.

11Overseas Disclosure

Some of the third-party services we use may store or process your data outside Australia. This includes:

Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient handles the information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, generally by relying on the recipients' published privacy policies and their compliance with equivalent international privacy frameworks (such as GDPR or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for US-based entities).

By using the Service, you consent to your personal information being disclosed to these overseas third parties as described above.
